Trump protesters set up a 30 foot, inflatable Trump chicken, which Trump fans “appropriated” into some hilarious memes, including the picture in this post. Here.

Walter Montgomery

Walter is a philosophy graduate student in New Hampshire. He sometimes wishes he was a lawyer, and other times wishes he was a basketball coach. Some of his favorite childhood memories involve traveling with his immediate family, grandparents, and cousins’ family in big gas-guzzling vans towing campers. He sees philosophy as a tool for getting at Truth, and thinks too many contemporary philosophers see it as a tool for advancing their ideological preferences.

  1. One more thing, I don’t think any of the erstwhile and honorable contributors here (and yes, that rules out a few of you, sorry!) claim to be military experts, but just a general question for any so inclined to opine:

Why couldn’t or shouldn’t POTUS or SECDEF take a public posture to the effect that any more projectiles detected lifting off from DPRK territory will be considered as a pre-emptive military strike and act of war against the US and its allies in the region, and as such make it unequivocal that any such provocation will be met with swift retaliation by the US armed forces upon the DPRK mainland?

And just for kicks and giggles when publishing the notice intentionally misspell “DPRK” as “DORK”.

    • Ha!
I don’t really know, CRD. I think what they should do depends on the likelihood of any of these projectiles being serious. As Rush Limbaugh said the other day, “They can’t hit the broad side of a barn!” But we don’t want them to develop the ability to hit the barn, so I think it’s a good idea to take public postures and actions that prevent them from getting there.

Honestly, I don’t think we are close to war, and I think this is a bunch of saber-rattling that the 24 hour news media eats up.
