You should be skeptical of arguments for open borders (duh).

Is climate science Dadaist science?

Friend of the blog, Neven Sesardic, weighs in on whether philosophy really improves thinking for students.

Angelo M. Codevilla, Professor Emeritus of International Relations at Boston University writes, ‘The Rise of Political Correctness‘.

Is the political thought found in Martin Heidegger a threat to liberal democracy? Alexander Duff, Professor of Philosophy at Holy Cross seems to think so.

Did you know about the Politics of Blondness, or that the women on Fox News are “alt-blonde”?

Trump protesters set up a 30 foot, inflatable Trump chicken, which Trump fans “appropriated” into some hilarious memes, including the picture in this post. Here.

Walter Montgomery

Walter is a philosopher with a degree from a Leiterific school who has published in a Leiterific journal. But who cares? Most things published in those journals are crap. But for the teaching opportunity to make little Deplorable disciples, with the increasing likelihood of getting the Lindsay Shepherd treatment (or worse), Walter would move home and run a small business, something most philosophers wouldn't have the first clue about.

  1. One more thing, I don’t think any of the erstwhile and honorable contributors here (and yes, that rules out a few of you, sorry!) claim to be military experts, but just a general question for any so inclined to opine:

Why couldn’t or shouldn’t POTUS or SECDEF take a public posture to the effect that any more projectiles detected lifting off from DPRK territory will be considered as a pre-emptive military strike and act of war against the US and its allies in the region, and as such make it unequivocal that any such provocation will be met with swift retaliation by the US armed forces upon the DPRK mainland?

And just for kicks and giggles when publishing the notice intentionally misspell “DPRK” as “DORK”.

    • Ha!
I don’t really know, CRD. I think what they should do depends on the likelihood of any of these projectiles being serious. As Rush Limbaugh said the other day, “They can’t hit the broad side of a barn!” But we don’t want them to develop the ability to hit the barn, so I think it’s a good idea to take public postures and actions that prevent them from getting there.

Honestly, I don’t think we are close to war, and I think this is a bunch of saber-rattling that the 24 hour news media eats up.
